On hot summer days, the non-muslims seem to think we are more suppressed than ever, especially our niqabi sisters, all covered up in what they imagine to be unbreathable fabrics, and black black black. Actually, my black abayas and niqabs have all the weight of an airy nightgown, but to stop the ever annoying non-muslim summer catch-phrase: "Aren't you hot in that?" why not where some quality fabrics in colours other than black? I love a white niqab paired with a floral bag and a cotton airy jilbab in a fun shade like berry, though pink and light olive are lovely too.
If our girl Adelle were a munaqaba (niqabi)---that is of course, if she were Muslim, and she let me play dress up doll with her as she often does--- than this would be a look I could create for this Korean cutie.

Which is more my thing, because I HATE elastic half niqabs. I don't find them comfy or practical for hourly wear.
