This was ACTUALLY a post request (from my husband.). Now you all know I love a good maxi dress the way you do. The coverage, the length, and its availability in the West (colour and selection is also great), it just has one great pitfall... it is often made of jersey.
Slinky stretch knits are a hijab don't. They might work as perfect hijab on the hanger and IF you don't move (IF you are a sister who is bedridden or paralyzed you can still work this), but as soon as you do MOVE, they cling to your thighs, and your butt, and the pretty indent of your waist, and not to mentions the breasts (your khimar/hijab should be covering that but if you-who-don't-follow THAT hijab basic, this trend tends to make you EVEN MORE clothed but naked.
The jersey maxi--- DON'T. The jersey tunic top---Don't.
Sister Kima from WELOVEHIJAB also did a post a long time ago about jersey tunic tops http://welovehijab.com/tag/hijab-dont/.
